The "Fusion" show that called the River Palms home for the past six months has closed and a new show has emerged in the same River Sands Theatre featuring familiar "Fusion" faces but with new illusions and new elements. "The Magic of Joseph Gabriel and Katalin" is the new show with more magic and novelty acts woven into the format that will run through June 30. Tickets are $14.95, call 800-835-7904.

In this new show, elements have been added from when Gabriel and Katalin performed together in Japan last summer. Gabriel is a magician/illusionist, who was a favorite of amateur magician and TV host Johnny Carson, and he appeared on "The Tonight Show" several times. He worked in several Las Vegas Strip production shows and then created and opened his own full-evening show on Broadway that ran for 18 months. Gabriel's signature illusion is producing birds from thin air.

Katalin is an East European beauty in her early 20s born in Budapest, Hungary. and an award-winning magician in her own right. In 2004, she moved to the United States and Las Vegas.

In addition to new illusions, the show includes two new female cast members. Susan Brodie is a dancer and perfect magician's assistant. Krista Candelaria was an acrobat in the "Folies Bergere" at the Tropicana in Las Vegas and also performed in "KA," the Cirque du Soleil show at the MGM Grand.

During the Laughlin River Run the Aquarius will be hosting 9 p.m. performances by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band, ZZ Top on Friday April 27 and Saturday April 28. Tickets range from $55-$60; call 800-435-8469.

ZZ Top is an American blues rock band formed in 1969 in Houston, Texas. They hold the distinction of being the only rock band still composed of its original members after more than 37 years. They reached the peak of their commercial success in the 1970s and 1980s, and remain together today touring and releasing albums.

The origin of the band's name was not officially known for many years. The title, as told by member Billy Gibbons in his book "Rock + Roll Gearhead," is derived from the name of blues musician B.B. King. They wanted to call themselves Z.Z. King, but that sounded too similar so they figured that "King" was at the "top" so thus settled on ZZ Top.

Starship starring Mickey Thomas will appear at the Edgewater's Kokopelli's Showroom on April 27 and 28. Tickets for the 9 p.m. shows are $35, call 800-677-4837.

Thomas is the owner of the soaring soulful voice that propelled Starship through the decades of the 80s and 90s. He made his mark in 1976 as lead vocalist on the mega-hit "Fooled Around and Fell in Love" with The Elvin Bishop Band. In 1979, Thomas joined Jefferson Starship as lead vocalist, after the departure of Grace Slick and Marty Balin, and immediately scored a No. 1 hit with "Jane," and the group was renamed Starship.

Moreover, every Starship album released since 1979 has gone Gold, Platinum or Multi-Platinum.

The blues-rock band, The Fabulous Thunderbirds will headline at Don's Celebrity Theatre at the Riverside, April 27-28. Tickets are $35, call 800-227-3849.

The Fabulous Thunderbirds were formed in 1974. After performing for several years in Austin, Texas, they earned a recording contract with Chrysalis Records and later signed to Arista. Their first two albums released in 1979 and 1980 did not initially sell well, but are now regarded as successful white blues recordings. The Fabulous Thunderbirds became favorites of fellow musicians and opened shows for the Rolling Stones and Eric Clapton.

During the early '90s, the group was in limbo, as original member Kim Wilson recorded a pair of solo albums. In 1994, Wilson re-assembled the band and they recorded their ninth album, "Roll of the Dice," which was released on Private Music in 1995. "High Water" followed in 1997 with a live album after that in 2001.

Grammy-winning American blues guitarist and singer Jonny Lang will headline at Harrah's Rio Vista Outdoor Amphitheater on April 26. Tickets are $20, $25 and $35 for the 9 p.m. show, call 800-447-8700.

Lang released his first album, "Smokin," in 1995 at age 14, under the name Kid Jonny Lang and the Big Bang. The following year, he released his debut solo album, "Lie to Me." Lang's music is noted for his singing, which has been compared to that of a 40 year old blues veteran, and for his guitar solos.

In more than 10 years on the road, Lang toured with the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, B.B. King, Jeff Beck and Sting. In 1999, he was invited to play for a White House audience including President and Mrs. Clinton.
