BEACH BOYS BRING HOLIDAY HARMONY TO THE E CENTER

The Beach Boys will bring their “Holiday, Harmonies & Hits” show to The E Center at the Edgewater on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $45.

This American rock band in 2012 made their 50th Anniversary Reunion Tour and in 2016 celebrated the 50th anniversary of their hit tune “Good Vibrations,” widely considered a masterpiece in the history of Rock 'n' Roll. The Beach Boys have continued to create and perform with the same bold imagination and style since their explosive debut more than 50 years ago. They were one of the earliest self-contained rock bands and one of the few U.S. bands sustaining success before, during, and after the infamous 1964 British Invasion.

Between the 1960s and 2010s, the band had more than 80 songs chart worldwide. Selling more than 100 million records globally has made them one of the world's best-selling bands of all time. The group's 2013 “Sounds of Summer” was certified Triple Platinum, and its companion “The Warmth of the Sun” sparked a renewed interest in The Beach Boys which spans the globe.

STEVEN BRIGGS BRINGS HUMOR TO THE AVI

For the Avi's First Friday comedy series, Steven Briggs will be featured on Dec. 6 at 8 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom. Tickets are $20.

Los Angeles-based comedian, writer and actor Briggs tells hilarious stories and makes sound effects working comedy clubs across the United States and Canada. He regularly shoots sketch comedy for his YouTube channel with videos grossing more than 100k views. Briggs has returned from his fifth tour performing for the U.S. troops in the Middle East. He's been featured on TruTV's “Laff Tracks,” Hulu's “Coming to the Stage,” “Jokesters TV” on the CW, and is slated to appear on a new Netflix show. His album, “Whiskey Dick,” can be found on iTunes.

PAM TILLIS SPENDS ACOUSTIC EVENING AT THE RIVERSIDE

Child of Music City royalty and a former rebel, Pam Tillis will appear at the Riverside Resort in Don's Celebrity Theatre Thursday-Sunday, Nov. 21-24 at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $30.

Singer/songwriter Tillis was a Country Music Association (CMA) Female Vocalist of the Year. She has written songs for some top singers in and outside of Nashville, including creating more than a few of her own hits such as “Land of the Living,” “Mi Vida Loca (My Crazy Life),” and “All the Good Ones Are Gone.” When Tillis committed to making a genuine country album, “Put Yourself In My Place,” it yielded two number ones, two top five singles, and one top 20 hit.

Tillis has performed on Broadway stages, modeled for “Glamour” magazine, and is a member of The Grand Ole Opry. She is a three-time CMA award winner and been nominated multiple times for Grammy's Best Female Country Vocal Performance in 1993 for “Maybe It Was Memphis,” in 1996 for “Mi Vida Loca,” and in 1998 for “All The Good Ones Are Gone.” Most recently, she had a 2012 IBMA Song Of The Year nomination for co-writing, Dale Ann Bradley's “Somewhere South Of Crazy.”

In the third decade of her career, she is currently touring extensively on her own as well as with her “Grits And Glamour” tour partner, country star Lorrie Morgan.

TANYA TUCKER VISITS THE EDGEWATER

American country music artist Tanya Tucker will headline The E Center at the Edgewater on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $35.

Tucker encountered fame early on at age 13 with her first hit song, “Delta Dawn,” in 1972, and went on become one of the few child performers to maintain success in adulthood. Over the course of her career, she garnered top-10 and top-40 hits. Between 1988 and 1989, Tucker enjoyed one of her most popular years on the charts, racking up eight country top-10 hits in a row. In 1988, she was nominated by the Country Music Association for “Female Vocalist of the Year,” and other major awards.

In 2019 Tucker re-recorded “Delta Dawn” with Brandi Carlile and Tenille Townes for Cracker Barrel's 50th year CD celebrating the “Women of Country Music: Then and Now.”

RIVERSIDE HOSTS RAT PACK TRIBUTE SHOW

Returning to Laughlin is “Drinkin', Singin', Swingin' - Salute to Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. & Dean Martin” at the Riverside Resort over Thanksgiving week, Wednesday-Sunday, Nov. 27-Dec. 1. Tickets for the 7 p.m. performances start at $30.

Riverside – Rat Pack tribute

This established hit show will star Ryan Baker as Frank Sinatra, Doug Starks as Sammy Davis, Jr., and Rick Michel as Dean Martin along with the All Star Band using original charts and musicians. This high-energy show has audiences experiencing the magical spontaneity superstars Sinatra, Davis, and Martin brought to the stage every night. This light musical comedy tribute immediately transports audiences back to the days when great swaggering legendary talent, song, dance, and comedy ruled the stage. The dynamic trio will even be singing some Christmas songs to strike up the spirit of the season.

DESERT TROMP OFFERS OFF ROAD FUN

The 5th annual Desert Tromp Off Road Bash & Poker Run will be held Nov. 8 and 9. The start and finish will be held at Base Camp- I-40 Exit #2 Needle Mountain Road, south side of I-40. There is plenty of off-road parking available and dry-camping with Port-o-Johns, dumpsters, and hand washing stations.

The Jeep & Truck Fun Run is a 35-mile course taking place on Friday with a mandatory driver meeting at 9 a.m. There will be a grand $500 cash prize and more than $1,000 in prizes. The Wiener Roast and Smores are at 7 p.m. Entry is $35 to $70.

The Off-Road Poker Run, which is a 40-mile desert course, is on Saturday with drivers meeting at 9 a.m. Participants collect poker chips along the way and return to Base Camp for a silent auction, live music, prizes and lunch, which is served from noon to 4 p.m. High hand wins $1,000, second place $500, and third $250. Registration is $50 to $90.

This event is a charity fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Colorado River.

RUN LAUGHLIN IS FIRST SATURDAY EVERY DECEMBER

Run Laughlin will be held Saturday, Dec. 7. The “One Dam Great Race,” which involves two states Nevada and Arizona and two time zone, features a Half Marathon, 5K and 12K race. Registration and information are online at runlaughlin.com. The Half Marathons starts at 7 a.m., 5K at 8 a.m. and 12K at 7:50 a.m. It's estimated 1,000 runners and walkers will participate among all three races. A portion of every Race Registration will help the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Colorado River.

AQUARIUS HOSTS 'VISIONS OF THE FUTURE' GATHERING

“Visions of the Future,” a UFO, remote viewing and ESP convention, will be held Friday-Sunday, Nov. 1-3 at the Aquarius Pavilion. There will be speakers, panels, presentations, experiencer sessions and movies. The conference is presented by StarworksUSA with a mission to support both the research and inquiry into the UFO phenomenon and those who have had the profound experience of contact with extraterrestrial life. EDGEWATER FEATURES COMEDIANS WEEKLY

The long-running “Comedy on the Edge” continues Friday-Sunday in the newly renovated Edge Lounge with performances at 7 p.m. Two different stand-up comedians appear weekly. Tickets are $15 with a $2 discount for U.S. veterans on Sundays. Following the show, there's dancing with a DJ from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.

Comedians sharing the stage Nov. 1-3 will be Darryl Rhoades and Sandra Risser.

Since 1988, Rhoades has performed more than 150 shows annually touring comedy clubs in America, Canada and Caribbean. His wide range of material appeals to audiences from colleges to corporate, military to casinos, etc., and has been showcased on national and regionally syndicated radio shows such as “John Boy & Billy” and “Dr. Demento,” XM Satellite Comedy Channel and “The National Lampoon Radio Hour.” He appeared in the 2009 movie “Crazy Heart” with Jeff Bridges, Robert Duvall, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Colin Farrell.

Rhoades' musical career began in 1968 as a drummer when he was a high school senior. By 1975, he was with the Hahavishnu Orchestra, a 12-piece musical comedy troupe performing nationally until 1978. As a prolific writer and performer, Rhoades has released 12 comedy/music albums featuring performances from members of different group. His compositions have been recorded by other artists and been featured in such movies as the 1989 Jim Varney release “Fastfood” and the “Sex Pistols Rockumentary...D.O.A.”

Risser is eccentric, smart, funny, older than Twinkies and can still bench press 500 grams. She is a quick-witted rising star in comedy who was featured by the “San Francisco Chronicle” as one of six comedians in the Bay Area to be sure to see. Risser who is self-deprecating plans to live long enough to reach her comedic zenith and win a gold medal in the “Sit Down/Stand up” in the Senior Olympics when she's 120 years old.

CARPENTERS ARE REMEMBERED AT THE RIVERSIDE

“We've Only Just Begun - Carpenters Remembered” starring singer Michelle Berting Brett and her four-piece Nashville band will play at the Riverside Resort in Don's Celebrity Theatre Wednesday-Sunday, Nov. 6-10 at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $35.

This tribute show is the definitive concert celebrating the Carpenters music and recreating their original sound. The Carpenters sold more than a hundred million records in just over a decade and still hold the record for most consecutive top-10 singles. The 1970s dynamic duo combination of Karen Carpenter's voice and brother Richard's compositions and arrangements created Grammy winning magic.

Brett currently stars in this show and “Merry Christmas Darling: Carpenters' Christmas.” Both shows have toured the United States since 2013 playing coast-to-coast in performing arts centers and casino showrooms including sold out appearances in Las Vegas and the Carpenters' hometown Downey, Calif.

'DECEMBER '63' HIGHLIGHTS VALLI-FOUR SEASONS AT THE RIVERSIDE

“December '63: A Tribute to Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons” will be the headlining show at Don's Celebrity Theatre inside the Riverside Wednesday-Sunday, Nov. 13-17 at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $35.

Before The Beatles invaded the United States, The Four Seasons were the most popular band in the country. Despite the British Invasion, Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons continued to knock out hit songs and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 and joined the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 1999. They are one of the best-selling groups of all time.

In 1962, the group released their first album with the single “Sherry,” which was not only their first charted hit but also their first No. 1 song. The Four Seasons followed with several million-selling hits, including their second and third No. 1 hits “Big Girls Don't Cry” and “Walk Like A Man.” From 1962 to early 1964, only The Beach Boys matched The Four Seasons in U.S. record sales.

Rosalinda Avelino Ghostbusters slot winner

Rosalinda Avelino, from Buena Park, Calif., won $226,764.96 on the Ghostbusters slot machine game at the Edgewater. She bet $1.60 on the $0.01 Ghostbusters denomination machine when she hit the jackpot.

The 4th Annual Memory Care Campaign, Cruising for a Cause Poker Run fundraiser will be held Saturday, Nov. 9. The Poker Run is from 9-11 a.m. followed by the Memory Care Reception 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Regency Casinos Outdoor Pavilion on the Riverwalk. The entry fee is $35 and includes an event t-shirt, wristband for Water Taxi access, five raffle tickets and the reception with hors d' oeuvres, live music and silent auction. The poker fun run has participants hopping on a water taxi and returning to the dock for the poker stops.

Don Laughlin's Riverside Resort is featuring an all-you-can-eat Fried Chicken Special in the Starview Room every Monday in November from 4-8 p.m. Cost is $5.99 plus tax for King of Clubs Members and $7.99 without a card.

A Spartan Race challenge over an eight-mile course with 25 obstacles will be heldNov. 16-17 at Laughlin Events Park. Participants will receive a T-shirt, finisher's medal, race photos and beer ticket. Registration closes Nov. 15; visit spartan.com.

The Holiday Shopping Bazaar will be held Saturday, Nov. 23 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Desert Valley Elementary School at 1066 Marina Blvd. Event is open free to the public with a free raffle ticket to the first 250 attendees. There will be handmade jewelry, crafts, clothing, accessories, knick-knacks and so much more.

The 23rd annual Craft Fair will take place at Gold Diggers inside the Golden Nugget on Friday, Dec. 6 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. To sell arts and crafts at the fair, call 702-298-7210 to purchase a table for $25. All proceeds will be donated to the Bullhead City/Laughlin Fire Fighters Holiday Toy Drive.

Bruce Clark's Annual Charity Auction benefitting River Fund, Inc. will be held Saturday, Dec. 7 from 4-7 p.m. (NV time) in the Pavilion Theater at the Tropicana. Tickets are $40 and $45 at the door for the four-course plated Italian dinner by Executive Chef Henry Garcia and his cuisine team. There will be $1,000 in cash drawings.

RMN Events, the largest national organizer of youth wrestling tournaments, will host The Smash Nationals Dec. 6-8 at the Anderson Auto Group Fieldhouse in Bullhead City, Ariz., with 1,500-2,000 wrestlers participating and some 6,000 spectators expected over the three-day event.

The 26th annual Avi Kwa Ame Pow Wow will take place Friday-Sunday, Jan. 10-12 at the Mojave Crossing Event Center starting each day at 10 a.m. (AZ time). Admission is $5 each day.

Murphy Broadcasting will present the 4th annual Wiggle Waggle Walk fundraiser on Saturday, Feb. 29 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Rotary Park BHC. There will be pet adoption, vendors, bounce houses, hot dogs, cotton candy and more. Adults $10, children $5, and pets free.
