The multi-platinum rockers, Journey, will perform at the Harrah's Laughlin Rio Vista Outdoor Amphitheater at 8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 5. The band begins a new chapter in their legendary career with new frontman Arnel Pineda joining Neal Schon (guitar), Jonathan Cain (keyboards), Ross Valory (bass) and Deen Castronovo (drums).

On June 3, Journey released their long-awaited new three-disc CD/DVD package, Revelation. The package features 11 re-recorded classics, 11 new songs and a live, in-concert performance on DVD.

Pineda ("pin-eh-da") replaced Jeff Scott Soto, who parted ways with the band earlier this year after stepping in for Steve Augeri, who had to leave the band in 2006 for medical reasons. He hails from Quezon City in the Philippines and has been singing Journey songs--in addition to original material--with his band, The Zoo, for the past couple of years in clubs all over his homeland.

When it was time for Journey to look for a new lead singer, the Internet came to their rescue. Schon wanted someone new to the music business, so he turned to YouTube. After finding Pineda singing Faithfully, he knew he had found the perfect frontman.

Popular comedian Ralphie May can currently be seen in 87 million living rooms nationwide on a regular basis with his one-hour special, Ralphie May: Prime Cut on Comedy Central that premiered last November. He has a no nonsense point of view and the ability to connect with a diverse audience by pointing out society’s hypocrisies. May doesn’t shy away from touchy topics, because he sincerely believes that as long as what he’s saying is true, people need to hear it. Tickets for his 8 p.m. shows from Oct. 7-12 are $30.

The Temptations and The Four Tops will both be headlining at the Aquarius Outdoor Amphitheater on Oct. 4 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $30 and $40.

After almost 50 years as the shining stars of Motown, The Temptations are still going strong, with a thriving career and a brand-new CD release appropriately titled Legacy. The Grammy-winning vocal group was formed in Detroit in 1960 as The Elgins.

Now they're teaming up with another dynamite Motown act, The Four Tops, the group behind hits like Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch and Baby, I Need Your Lovin’. This quartet, also founded in Detroit, began as The Four Aims with lead singer Levi Stubbs who was a cousin of Jackie Wilson and brother of The Falcons’ Joe Stubbs.

Room packages start at $160.99 and they include two show tickets and accommodations for two nights.

A Latin celebration at the Tropicana, Oct. 3-5, will include Tierra and Malo in concert in the Pavilion, a free party in Victory Plaza starring Freddy Fender, Jr., a Low Riders Car Show in the north lot, and strolling Mariachi throughout the casino.

Tierra was the first Latino band to have four songs on the national charts and two simultaneously in the Top 100. They started their career in East Los Angeles with a blend of rock, pop, jazz, R&B and salsa and produced classics such as Together, Gonna Find Her, Memories and Zoot Suit Boogie. Tierra and Malo will perform on Oct. 3 and 4 at 7 p.m.

The Freddy Fender Jr. show is a tribute to the great Freddy Fender. There will be a special appearance by his little sister Ashley singing top Latino songs.

Roddin' On The River, sponsored by the River Cruizers, will take place at the Riverside, Sept. 25-28. The annual event features street rods, muscle cars, trucks, classics and specialty vehicles. Events will include night slow drags, open header contest, back-up-to-the-cone contest, model car contest, poker run and walk, door prizes and vendors.

At the Colorado Belle, two Dixieland jazz bands provide free weekend entertainment on a stage at the resort’s main entrance. The Dixie Boys perform Thursday-Sunday from 4-7 p.m. and The Dixie River Band take over Thursday-Saturday from 9 p.m. to midnight.

The Acrobats of Hebei China will bring their gravity-defying stunts and incredible acrobatics to Don Laughlin’s Riverside from Sept. 23-Oct. 5. The multi-talented troupe range in ages from 19-25 and feature unique acts, daring maneuvers, stunning costumes and props in a “wow-factor” production. Tickets for the 8 p.m. shows are $30.

The River Palms is keeping the laughter center stage at the River Palms Comedy Room. Comedians John Joseph and Johnny B will be telling the jokes Sept. 16-20. Shows are presented Tuesdays through Saturdays at 9 p.m. Tickets are $17.95 for general seating and $22.95 for preferred seating, call 1-866-448-7849 or 702-474-4000.

Joseph is one of the hottest comics working today. He's made nine tours of the United States and Canada opening for Julio Iglesias, and worked with other stars such as Huey Lewis and the News, Kenny Rogers, Rodney Dangerfield, Alan King, The Doobie Brothers, Leann Rimes and the Righteous Brothers.

Joseph has taped Live at Jongleurs in London, England, and appeared on such television shows as The Rosie O'Donnell Show , The View with Barbara Walters on ABC , Club 54 in Toronto, Ontario, Comic Strip Live on FOX, Standup Spotlite-VH-1, Evening at The Improv, Comedy on the Road, and Caroline's Comedy Hour all on "E", Girls Night Out on Lifetime TV, and Crook and Chase on TNN.

Recently Joseph has been touring with "King of the Piano Bars" Johnny B, in a show titled "A one man show with 2 guys". This 90-minute show incorporates comedy, music, and theatre.
