Grand Canyon West and the Ramada Express are partnering to offer "A Daytime Of Cultural Adventure, An Evening Of Excitement" travel package.

Located two hours northwest of Laughlin, Grand Canyon West is owned and operated by the Hualapai Tribe and offers visitors breathtaking panoramic views at Grand Canyon's western rim. Their portion of the package includes a rustic cultural experience via a Hop-on Hop-off Shuttle System throughout three viewing areas - Eagle Point, Guano Point and Hualapai Ranch. The Spirit package includes photo opportunities with Hualapai members in native dress, a wagon ride and a meal choice of Hualapai Barbecue or Western Town Cowboy Cookout.

The Hualapai Ranch is a true western experience with wild-west performances and wagon rides, as well as a gift shop with western clothing, jewelry and souvenirs. Horseback rides along the Grand Canyon Rim are available for additional fees.

Eagle Point includes The Skywalk construction site and Indian Village, which offer guided walking tours of authentic dwellings of the Hualapai, Havasupai, Navajo, Plains and Hopi Indians. The village includes an amphitheatre with scheduled Native American cultural performances throughout the day. The Skywalk will be the first-ever cantilever-shaped glass bridge suspended more than 4,000 feet above the Colorado River and the featured attraction when it opens this winter.

The package also includes overnight accommodations at the Ramada Express with breakfast in the Roundhouse Buffet, and a fun sheet with special values. One night is $80 and two nights are$100 per person, Sunday through Thursday, and $17 per person more on weekends. Pricing is based on per person double occupancy. The Colorado Belle's Captain's Buffet is now serving Champagne Brunch Buffets daily. Brunch hours are 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. and are priced at $7.99 per person. Ground was broken last month and construction has begun on the Laughlin River Walk Plaza. Located between the Flamingo and Edgewater casinos and adjacent to the Regency Casino, the plaza will connect Casino Drive and the Laughlin River Walk. The idea is to create a shopping area that will accommodate pedestrians on both ends of the plaza. The plaza will consist of two buildings separated by a mini-plaza featuring a water fountain. Building "A" will be one-story, while Building "B" will contain a main level with upper and lower levels at the River Walk end. The upper level will also feature a small viewing area above the River Walk and overlooking the river.

The contemporary swing band from southern California, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy will headline at the Riverside Sept. 19-24. Tickets are $32, call 1-800-227-3849, ext 616.

The band went from a regular Wednesday night gig at the Derby in Hollywood, playing for a few hundred people, to playing the Super Bowl XXXIII half-time show in 1999. Originally formed in 1989 by leader Scott Morris, the band concentrated on the swing of the 1940s and '50s, playing clubs and lounges. The band launched two CDs under their own label (Big Bad Records) before getting their big break when their songs "You & Me & The Bottle Makes Three Tonight (Baby)" and "Go Daddy-O" were featured in the 1996 comedy "Swingers."

From there they were signed by Capitol Records. Over the last few years, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy has experienced great success playing on the Pops programs of American symphony orchestras.

REO Speedwagon and Styx will headline at Harrah's Rio Vista Outdoor Amphitheater on Sept. 29. Tickets start at $35.

Kenny Rogers will be center stage at the Flamingo Outdoor Amphitheater Sept. 23-24. Tickets range from $25 to $40.

Blues guitarist Coco Montoya will perform at the Edgewater's Kokopelli Showroom Sept. 29-30 at 9 p.m. Tickets are $15.

Ruby Wise of Los Angeles, Calif., recently hit the $5,948,707 MegaJackpotr on the dollar Wheel of Fortuner at the Riverside. The surprised 68-year-old was on a family vacation that was arranged for her birthday celebration.

It will be karaoke time at the Ramada Express Sept. 24-30. The 2006 Talent Quest Karaoke Nations will feature the top karaoke singers in the country. The challenges taking place in the American Heroes Pavilion are free to watch except the finals on Saturday have a $10 charge.
