The Tennessee Three were the backing band for renowned country music and rockabilly singer Johnny Cash, for more than 40 years until Cash's semi-retirement in 1996.

From his early stardom with Sun Records until his last years as a performer, Cash chose to work with only one band and depended upon it for the unique sound that would come to be recognized by millions of fans as "the Johnny Cash sound." They will be headlining in Don's Celebrity Theatre at the Riverside, July 23-27. Tickets are $20 for their 8 p.m. shows.

Tony Orlando will "tie a yellow ribbon" at the Tropicana Express on July 26. Tickets for his 8 p.m. show are $39 and $49.

Orlando has sold million-selling records, had five No. 1 hits, done a popular television variety series, made movies and played on Broadway in Barnum and Smokey Joe's Caf‚. Orlando, who was born and raised in New York City, began hitting the national charts at the age of 16 with Halfway to Paradise and Bless You as the first vocal artist to sign with Epic Records. He later routed his musical career to the nonperformance side and became one of the youngest vice-presidents for CBS Records, heading their April-Blackwood music label.

He went on to make hits like Candida and Knock Three Times, which was a featured song in the hit movie Now and Then. He made a meteoric rise to the top when he teamed with Telma Hopkins and Joyce Vincent Wilson, and became known as Tony Orlando and Dawn. Amazingly enough, Orlando hadn't even begun to scratch the surface of his stardom. In 1973, he recorded Tie A Yellow Ribbon Round The Ole Oak Tree. The song was No. 1 for the year, became Orlando's theme song and grew into an American anthem of hope and homecoming, reunion and renewal.

Orlando's highly rated weekly variety series with Dawn on CBS broke new ground, it was the first multi-ethnic variety show on television. Orlando, of Hispanic and Greek origins, and Hopkins and Wilson, African Americans, were an instant hit. The show ran for four seasons from 1974 - 1976.

Orlando has had a strong friendship with Jerry Lewis. He has been a guest host on Jerry's Labor Day Telethon for 25 years, nine of those as the New York host. Orlando and Lewis also teamed for a series of shows in the early 1990s at the Las Vegas Hilton and Riviera hotels. Only two other entertainers share the distinction of performing with Lewis: Dean Martin and Sammy Davis, Jr.

Since 1993, Orlando has been a resident of Branson, Mo., where he has performed more than 2,000 shows. His current performing home in Branson is The Osmond Family Theatre. In 1998, he created and starred in the show Jukebox Dreams where he took the audience on a doo-wop serenade showing the power of one man's dreams.

For most of July at Harrah's, laugh makers will be taking center stage. Comedy presenters will be Kivi Rogers and Tess Drake July 12-16; and Todd Glass and Daniel Kinno July 19-23. Shows are at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Saturdays, and 8 p.m. Sundays through Wednesdays. Tickets are $15.95, $20.95 and $25.95.

After earning his degree, Kivi Rogers got a job where his co-workers coaxed him into entering a comedy competition that he won. Since then, Rogers has made guest appearances on many television programs including; The West Wing, Dharma and Greg, Home Improvement, and Everybody Loves Raymond. He also appeared in the feature film Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion with Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino.

Rogers showcased at the prestigious HBO / Aspen Comedy Arts Festival after which he landed a development deal with Castle Rock Entertainment to star in his own sitcom. Rogers also performed on HBO's Def Comedy Jam and has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

In 2007, Rogers was selected to be a member of the CleanGuys of Comedy, an ensemble group led by Dave Coulier (Full House), which is scheduled to perform a nationwide theatre tour in 2008. CleanGuys is stand up comedy for the entire family.

The River Palms Comedy Room continues with a laughter theme weekly brought on by the antics of three different nationally-known comics.or more national venues with appearances on HBO specials, Comedy Central, Premium Blend, The Tonight Show, The Late Show, and more. Eric Lyden's sarcastic and self-deprecating style of comedy celebrates the life and struggles of the working class hero. After dropping out of community college and failing to get promoted at Sears, he pursued stand-up comedy--the only career that actually encouraged his philosophy of "life is way too hard." Making his lower-middle-class existence and lack of success the focal point of his comedy, Lyden gives his audiences someone they can both laugh with and relate to.

Lyden made his national television debut on Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen. His appearance generated so much positive feedback from his family and friends who were paid to call the show that he was invited to come back. Lyden also made his commercial debut with an advertisement for the History Channel's Mega Movers show that was immediately cancelled.

Now living and performing in New York City, Lyden works the circuit of well-known New York City clubs including Carolines on Broadway, Stand-Up NY, and Gotham Comedy Club.

Nationally known comedian Rob Sherwood is the host of Coast to Coast From Las Vegas, a new three-hour Saturday Night radio show heard in 75 markets. For a decade, Sherwood has continually climbed the comedy ladder to become a nationally known comedian. Now a regular on the comedy club scene, when he's not opening for Carrot Top at the Luxor, Sherwood is hosting his weekly radio show.
