TED NUGENT HEADLINES E CENTER!

Rock ‘n' roll showman Ted Nugent will appear in concert at the Edgewater's E Center on Saturday, Aug. 4 at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $35.

Guitar-shredding Nugent has sold more than 40 million albums and performed 6,500-plus live shows. He was born in Detroit, Mich., and largely self-taught began playing music when he was 6 years old. By age 14, he formed his first band, the Lourds, which was given the opportunity to open for the Beau Brummels and the Supremes. After graduating from high school, he moved to Chicago and fronted his band Amboy Dukes, which signed with Mainstream Records and earned a No. 8 hit on the pop charts.

In 1975, Nugent released his first solo album, “Ted Nugent,” featuring the hit singles “Stranglehold” and “Hey Baby.” Two years later, he recorded his most successful album to date “Cat Scratch Fever.” Eventually selling more than 3 million copies, the LP included the now-classic rock anthems “Cat Scratch Fever,” “Workin' Hard, Playin' Hard,” and “Out of Control.”

MAGICIAN ALEX RAMON WILL MYSTIFY AT HARRAH'S

Master magician Alex Ramon will appear in the Fiesta Showroom at 8 p.m. from July 21 to Aug. 8. Ramon has been mesmerizing audiences with his show “IMpossible.”

Ramon, who was raised in Richmond, Calif., developed his connection with magic when he was 13 years old. After performing for family and friends, he entered his first competition at age 16. While he was one of the youngest competitors, he won second place. He became the spokesperson for a statewide library showcase and traveled across California performing more than 250 shows a year.

While still in his teens, Ramon earned many top awards and honors including San Francisco Bay Area's Best Stage Magician, the coveted Lance Burton Award, and was named National Stage Magic Champion by the World Magic Seminar in Las Vegas.

Ramon traveled the globe performing as a professional illusionist in Disney LIVE!® presents “Mickey's Magic Show.” At age 23, he became the first magician and the second youngest ringmaster in the 139-year history of The Greatest Show on Earth®. Starring as the magical “Zingmaster” in Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® presents “Zing Zang Zoom,” Ramon made an elephant disappear, levitated audience members, and transformed a man into a tiger. His next move was his own magic and illusion show in Lake Tahoe, Nev.

EDGEWATER FEATURES TWO COMEDIANS ON WEEKENDS

Edgewater's “Comedy on the Edge” features two different comedians at 7 p.m. every Friday-Sunday. The summer lineup will showcase: July 6-8 Jason Love and Sally Mullins; July 13-15 Barry Neal and Debra Praver; July 20-22 Trenton Davis and Vince Royale; and July 27-29 John Hilder and Jamario McClain. Tickets are $15 with a $2 discount available for U.S. veterans on Sundays.

Jason Love is booked with Sally Mullins July 6-8. Love is a comedian whose material is clean while offering wry and very often self-deprecating observations about himself and society. Accompanied by his guitar, he enjoys humor about his own shortcomings. He has appeared on HBO, Comedy Central, “America's Got Talent” and more than 20 national broadcasts. Love was raised in Thousand Oaks, Calif., and in retrospect claims Newbury Park High School was his training ground with running commentary for the people sitting around him in class. Classmates laughed, and he got suspended.

Love created his nonprofit, Love & Laughter, after losing a friend to cancer. His program brings stand-up comedy shows - featuring his headliner-comedian friends donating their comedic services - to cancer support centers in Southern California.

Barry Neal will appear with Debra Praver July 13-15. Neal also known as “The Counselor of Love” talks about relationships, marriage and children. Neal is a member of the clean comedy division of Entertainment Max. He is equally comfortable entertaining for corporations, at military bases, and appearing as a guest performer on Comedy Central, NBC, and MTV. The veteran comedian has shared the stage with major stars including Jerry Seinfeld and Ellen DeGeneres. Neal has been featured on such networks as NBC, Fox, A&E, USA, and Comedy Central.

Trenton Davis is paired with Vince Royale July 20-22. Davis' material is all about fatherhood, relationships, and light political humor. Davis was the San Francisco International Comedy Competition runner up for 2016, and, also a finalist in NBC's “Standup for Diversity” program. He's done standup for 11 years and performed with Tracy Morgan, Tommy Davidson and Bill Burr, among others. Davis began his comedy journey in Chicago, Ill., and, also lived in San Francisco. Now residing outside Los Angeles, his overall interesting experiences have shaped his views and created a new prominent comedic writer and performer.

John Hilder will share the stage with Jamario McClain. Hilder was born and raised Mormon in the Salt Lake City, Utah. As a youngster he kept annoying friends, family, and teachers with his endless attempts to make them laugh. In 2004, he moved to Las Vegas to pursue comedy. With his quirky personality and originality, Hilder has become a respected local comedian appearing at many of Las Vegas' biggest casinos. He is a writer and featured member of the Las Vegas Laughs Street Team on the Fox television affiliate in Las Vegas. His debut comedy album “Johnsense,” is available on iTunes and Amazon.

BRIAN KILEY BRINGS COMEDY TO AVI

The Avi, which is featuring 1st Friday Comedy Shows at 8 p.m. in the Avi Grand Ballroom, will star comedian Brian Kiley on Aug. 3 at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $20.

Kiley is a regular at comedy clubs in Los Angeles and has appeared several times on late shows with David Letterman, Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien. He has been a staff writer for O'Brien since 1994 and is currently the head monologue writer. He has been nominated for 16 Emmy Awards and is the winner of the 2007 Emmy Award for Writing in a Comedy/Variety Series. A fun note, he was even featured in the “New York Times” Sunday Crossword Puzzle.

O'Brien has had a recurring role on the Cartoon Network's “Delocated” and appeared on many TV shows including “The Bonnie Hunt Show,” “Comedy Central Presents,” “Caroline's Comedy Hour,” etc.

TROPICANA SHOWCASES WEEZER AND BLINK-182 TRIBUTE SHOW

It will be two concerts in one with a Weezer and Blink-182 tributes in the Pavilion Theater at the Tropicana on Saturday, July 21 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20.

Formed in 2014 in Yuma, Ariz., Weezerton pays tribute to rock band Weezer encompassing the early years with “The Blue Album” and “Pinkerton” through to the group's newest album “Everything Will Be All Right in the End.”

The-182s are a Southern California-based tribute band for Blink-182. Also formed in 2014, their authentic tribute replicates the stage design with the exact equipment Blink-182 used for touring, along with dressing and acting like Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge, and Travis Barker on stage.

GEORGE THOROGOOD & THE DESTROYERS WILL ROCK THE EDGEWATER

George Thorogood & The Destroyers will throw a Rock Party at the Edgewater's E Center on Saturday, July 21 at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $25.

Thorogood was hooked to rock ‘n roll early in his life. His first show was as a singer fronting a group for a birthday party for his twin sisters when he was 15 years old and got paid $20. By his early 20s, he was a solo acoustic player and an opening act. He was being advised to put a band together. He called high school friend and drummer Jeff Simon and added a second guitar player. A record deal followed with Rounder Records and the debut self-titled album. With 16 studio albums including six Gold and two Platinum discs on Roudner, EMI and Capitol, the band amassed a catalog of hits and the ultimate badass anthem, “Bad To The Bone.” However, it was the group's live performances which made them legendary from appearances on SNL and Live Aid, to the opening slot on the Rolling Stones' historic '81 tour, and their own record-breaking 50/50 tour.

TRIBUTE ACTS ABOUND AT THE RIVERSIDE

Tribute shows planned at the Riverside Resort in Don's Celebrity Theatre will give audiences authentic experiences. Upcoming shows will highlight Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks, ABBA, Reba McEntire, and Whitney Houston. Tickets for the 8 p.m. performances are $30.

Fleetwood Nicks, formerly WildHeart, will perform the timeless music and legendary sound of Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks, July 3-8, and focus on both in their prime.

Abbafab

ABBAFAB will pay tribute to the music of ABBA July 18-22. This multimedia production is a tribute to ABBA's music produced in the 70s and 80s including monster hits such as “Waterloo,” “Fernando,” “Honey Honey,” “Dancing Queen” and countless others. ABBA's record breaking string of hits has stood the test of time.

Simply Reba

“Simply Reba” is a tribute to the Queen of Country, Reba McEntire July 25-29. McEntire is one of the most successful female recording artist in country music history with more than 25 number one singles and more than 35 million in album sales. Multi-award-winning Wendy T. backed by a five-piece live band stars in this live country concert tribute.

Queen of the Night - Remembering Whitney

Trina Johnson Finn will star in “Queen of the Night! Remembering Whitney” Aug. 1-5. She will create the essence and persona of Houston for a night taking the audience back to the Queen of the Night Party Central, showcasing fan-favorite songs from the superstar's past albums along with dialogue providing personal insight behind each song. Las Vegas musicians will take the stage along with two background vocalists and four dancers.

Chuckwagon specials at the Regency Casino include: Taco Tuesday; Burger Wednesday with 50 percent off all handmade gourmet burgers; Pasta Thursday starting at 2 p.m.; Fish Fryday with all-you-can-eat fish, fries and coleslaw for $11.99; and prime rib Thursday-Sunday 4-10 p.m.

The “Beatles vs. Stones - A Musical Shootout” at Harrah's in the Fiesta Showroom at 8 p.m. from July 5-16 will confront the debate, which band is the greatest with flawless tribute recreations by Abbey Road portraying the Fab Four and Jumpin Jack Flash emulating the Rolling Stones. Ticket range is $27-$37.

The Big Band Theory will present an evening of music, singers and TAD Swing Dancers on the stage and dance floor July 12-15 at the Riverside Resort at 8 p.m. Tickets are $32.

The Sugarhill Gang and Club Nouveau will appear at Harrah's on Saturday, July 14 as part of the Beach Party Concert Series at 10 p.m. The Sugarhill Gang is responsible for classics such as “Rapper's Delight” and “Apache,” and Club Nouveau released hits with “Jealousy,” “Situation #9,” and a cover of Bill Withers' “Lean on Me.” Cost $11-$31. The dance party will start at 8 p.m. with a DJ.

The Laughlin Chamber of Commerce's second “Freedom of Expression” fundraising wine and canvas event will be held on Thursday, July 27 at the Golden Nugget at 5:30 p.m. Price, which is $40, includes an artist-led event, personal canvas, paint and paintbrush, appetizers and of wine.

Reminder, the 21st annual Fiesta featuring all-you-can drink margaritas with a fajita dinner will be held at the Aquarius on Friday, July 13 from 6-9 p.m. The Margarita Party of the Summer fundraiser for Boys & Girls Clubs of the Colorado River is also a competition for the Best Margarita in the Tri-State area. Tickets are $40, call 928-1411.

The Riverside will host the 3rd Annual Riverside Challenge Dart Tournament July 20-22 with $10,000 guaranteed. The Luck of the Draw will be on Friday at 7:30 p.m. with 100-percent payback. Entry is $20 and Green Fee $5. Main events on Saturday and Sunday are $20 entry and $10 green fee.

The Laughlin River Regatta, a 13-mile inner tube float on the Colorado river between Laughlin, Nev., and neighboring Bullhead City, Ariz., will be held Saturday, Aug. 11. Tickets are $70 per person.

“Uptown Funk - Bruno Mars Tribute” will be center stage at the Avi Grand Ballroom on Friday, Aug. 31 at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $20.

CARS TRIBUTE SHOW AT AVI

“Heartbeat City Cars Tribute” starring America's No. 1 Cars tribute band will perform in the Avi Grand Ballroom on Saturday, July 21 at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $20.

Heartbreak City Cars Tribute Act

The Cars, who arrived on the music scene in the late 70s, released their “Heartbeat City” album with five big singles including “Drive.” They led the way with the new sound of the 80s and had 30 hit singles. Their music still gets regular radio airplay as does their YouTube videos.

Heartbeat City, named for the Cars album, faithfully recreates the Cars look and sound. They dress in the period-correct 80s style. Members of Heartbeat City come from different well-known national tribute shows as well as some 80s recording acts.
