Country music legend Mel Tillis and country superstar Pam Tillis will perform together on Saturday, June 17 at 9 p.m. in the Flamingo Ballroom. Tickets are $29.95 and $34.95, call 1-800-435-8469.

With more than 60 albums to his credit, Mel Tillis has established himself as a country music staple. In 1956, Webb Pierce recorded a song he wrote entitled "I'm Tired," which launched Tillis' musical career. Now 50 years later, Tillis has penned over 1,000 songs, 600 of which have been recorded by major artists.

Not only have the songs he's written received national recognition and monumental status such as "Ruby Don't Take Your Love To Town," which garnered the Special Citation of Achievement from BMI for 3 million broadcast performances. Thirty-six of the songs he recorded have been Top Ten singles with nine of them going to No.1.

His daughter, Pam is an accomplished songwriter and performer in her own right. Some of her honors include: 1994 "Female Vocalist of the Year" and 1994 "Video of the Year." Pam also received a Grammy in 1994. Five out of seven of her albums have certified either gold or platinum. Her hits have included: "Mi Vida Loca," "It's Lonely Out There" and "In Between Dances."

Country Music USA, a Ramada Express exclusive, is a tribute to some of the greatest names in country music such as Garth Brooks, Vince Gill, Patsy Cline, Shania Twain and Brooks & Dunn. Rob Eisler is impressive as Vince Gill.

Hot Lava's Polynesian revue offers drumbeats, beauty, acrobatic balancing, colorful costumes and fiery fire dancing as part of the pageantry. Also featured will be three-time world champion Limbo dancer Samson Bay, world champion fire dancer One Tovo, and world traveling acrobats The Untouchables. The Hot Lava dancers are from such exotic locations as Tahiti, Brazil, Hawaii and Tonga.

Comedy is provided by Willie Leleua and Runi Tafeaga Provioe with just the right dose of the "Maori Worrior" bit.

Tom Crow, Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy, USN (Ret.) will talk about his 31-year military career spanning from the Korean War to his retirement in 1981, when he is the featured speaker at the American Veterans Program on Tuesday, May 23 at 7:30 a.m. in the Santa Fe Room at the Ramada.

The public is invited free. Guests who attend the speakers program and donate $5 or more to the American Heroes Foundation will receive a coupon for breakfast in the buffet.

A native of McArthur, Ohio, Crow joined the Navy in January 1953 and served many tours. In 1977, he was selected to serve as the COMNAVAIRPAC Force Master Chief until 1979 when he was selected by the Chief of Naval Operations to serve as Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy. As MCPON, Crow was a spokesman for the entire enlisted community and championed many causes.

Following retirement, he began a second career with National University, in San Diego, Calif., as Associate Director of the Career Development Center.
