JEFF CIVILLICO STARS IN TRAVEL CHANNEL'S "VEGAS STRIP SEARCH"!
On Saturday, April 6 at 3 p.m. PST, Jeff Civillico's pilot episode of his new Travel Channel show “Vegas Strip Search” will air. The show features Civillico traveling across North America seeking out undiscovered talent. The unique acts he finds get the opportunity to perform in his 2 p.m. show, “Jeff Civillico: Comedy in Action,” at The Quad. Tickets range from $30 to $40.
In addition, Civillico is the founder and president of Win-Win Entertainment, a non-profit which pairs performers willing to donate their time and talent with charity organizations in need of entertainment.
HAKKASAN CELEBRATES NIGHTCLUB GRAND OPENING
Hakkasan Las Vegas, the new five-level culinary and nightlife mecca opening at the MGM Grand, has unveiled the details surrounding its Grand Opening weekend April 25-28, kicking off with a preview of the nightclub, Thursday, April 18.
The line-up for Hakkasan Nightclub's first three weekends, including the Preview, Grand Opening and MGM Grand's Fight weekend, consists of the premiere performances by resident DJs Tiësto and Calvin Harris, in addition to featured artists (in alphabetical order) Bingo Players, deadmau5, Hardwell, Laidback Luke, R3hab, Steve Aoki and Tommy Trash. Grand Opening weekend will culminate with a star-studded affair Saturday, April 27 hosted in partnership with “GQ Magazine” and featuring a full set from Calvin Harris.
'KINGS OF THE MIC TOUR' FEATURES LL COOL J
Two-time Grammy®-winning recording artist, LL Cool J featuring DJ Z-Trip, will headline the “Kings Of The MicTour” and be joined by legendary artists Ice Cube, Public Enemy and De La Soul when the Hip-Hop tour stops at The Joint at the Hard Rock on Friday, May 24. Tickets start at $49.50.
The tour will come on the heels of the release of Cool J's 14th studio album, “Authentic,” on April 30 on 429 Records / The Savoy Label Group. First introduced to the world in 1984 as a Def Jam Records flagship artist, Cool J is the first rap artist to amass 10 consecutive platinum-plus selling albums.
As a solo recording artist, Ice Cube has sold more than 10 million albums. HALL & OATES VISIT HARD ROCK THIS SUMMER
The No. 1 selling duo in music history, Daryl Hall and John Oates, will return to The Joint at the Hard Rock for two nights August 2 and 3. In April 2011, Oates released his solo album, “Mississippi Mile” on Elektra Records. Hall released his solo album, “Laughing Down Crying,” on Verve Records on Sept. 27, 2011. Most recently as a duo, Hall & Oates released their first box set, “Do What You Want, Be What You Are: The Music of Daryl Hall & John Oates” with four CDs containing 74 tracks and 16 of them previously unreleased. BURGER BISTRO OPENS AT LVH
Burger Bistro has opened next to the Plaza Bar and TJ's Steakhouse at the LVH offering six different burger types including Angus beef, California lamb, yellow tail tuna, turkey breast, lump and black fin crab and kosher vegetarian. The interior features contemporary high-top tables and an eye-catching bar with burgers priced from $10 to $15.
NEW 'LAS VEGAS ROCKS VARIETY SHOW' STARTS AT LVH
The lineup for the new weekly “Las Vegas Rocks Variety Show” hosted by Tony Sacca will feature famed guitarist Esteban and his violinist daughter Teresa Joy, “The Phat Pack,” comedian Anthony Padillo and featured house band The Gregg Peterson Band in the Shimmer Cabaret at the LVH – Las Vegas Hotel & Casino on Friday, April 5 at 4 p.m.
The hour-long show will be taped with a live audience every Friday at 4 p.m. and air the following day locally at 3 p.m. on Vegas TV Cable 14 as well as regionally and will be broadcast via the Internet. Griffin has appeared in 47 films and numerous television shows and was honored as one of the top 100 stand-up comedians worldwide. CITY OF LAS VEGAS HOLDS DOWNTOWN CONCERTS IN APRIL
The city of Las Vegas will celebrate its diversity with two downtown concerts in April. First, Kaumakaiwa Kanaka'Ole, a five-time Na Hoku Hanohano Award-winner, accomplished hula dancer and singer in the Hawaiian language, will perform on Saturday, April 13 at 7 p.m. at the Historic Fifth Street School Auditorium. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 on event day.
On Friday, April 19 from noon to 1 p.m., Grammy Award-winning drummer Manny Kellough will bring his Jazz Xpressions group to lead a celebration of Jazz Appreciation Month in the Lloyd D. George Federal Courthouse Jury Assembly Room at 333 Las Vegas Blvd. South. Admission is free and open to the public. Bring your driver's license for courthouse admission, and a sack lunch.
THE OUTLAWS WILL PERFORM AT THE CANNERY
The Outlaws band is back on the road and will perform at the Cannery on April 6. The Southern rock band was formed in 1972. They were the first act signed to Arista Records under Clive Davis and have had multiple Billboard 100 hits. Tickets are $19.95.
'ABSINTHE' SHOW CELEBRATES ZOMBIE STYLE
The highly acclaimed circus-themed show “Absinthe” recently celebrated its 1,000th show by turning PURE Nightclub inside Caesars Palace into a zombie apocalypse. Arriving just after midnight, the entire cast, including The Gazillionaire, Penny Pibbets and Angel Porrino, outfitted in full zombie attire made their way to VIP booths on the main stage. The celebrated acro-cabaret variety show opened at Caesars Palace in 2011.

ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC HONORS RED ROCK RESORT
Red Rock Casino, Resort & Spa has been named “Casino of the Year” by the Academy of Country Music for having played host to many of Country music's top artists in 2012. Red Rock will be honored at the 48th annual Academy of Country Music Awards, which will air on CBS on Sunday, April 7 and will officially be presented with the award during an off-camera industry celebration at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville in the fall. Station Casinos has now won this prestigious award five times, becoming the only casino to have received the award more than once.
