The production show "Fusion" featuring a blend of magic, comedy and illusion will continue at the River Palms through March 31 in the River Sands Theatre. Shows are nightly except Tuesday at 7:30 and tickets are $14.95; call 800-835-7904.
"Fusion" formerly graced the stage of Lake Tahoe's Golden Cabaret for over 2 1/2 years, and boasted record attendance. The show's veteran producers Tony Clark and Paul Reder have had other hit shows like Las Vegas' "Dragapella" and "Forbidden Vegas," as well as Tahoe's Chipper Lowell Experience, "Phantasy," and "Viva Vaudeville."
The stars of "Fusion" are award-winning master illusionist Joseph Gabriel and his assistant and magician Katalin, who have performed for audiences around the world, and on virtually every major television magic special, most notably the Command Performance for President Reagan. Johnny Carson introduced Gabriel in 1983, and what transpired on the "Tonight Show" was sufficient to amaze millions of viewers and leave Carson himself visibly and vocally enthused. Over the next several years, Joseph would appear a total of seven times with Carson.
Gabriel made his Las Vegas debut in the "Lido de Paris" at the Stardust. Two years later, he became the starring act in "City Lites" at the Flamingo Hilton where he performed for 10 consecutive years. Joseph made a mega-leap from Las Vegas act to Broadway star, when he created and opened his own full-evening show entitled, "Magic on Broadway," which ran for 18 months.
Also in the cast is the comedy-juggling of Bryson Lang, who is an original alumnus of "Fusion." His talents have graced such movies as "Austin Powers II" and "Batman and Robin." On the small screen, Bryson has worked in commercials for Hollywood Video and Ethiopian Airlines and performed on a variety of television shows.
Rounding out the show is the magic artistry of Danny Cole, who was twice voted "Stage Magician of the Year" by the membership of the Magic Castle in Hollywood. He was a guest performer on Lance Burton's second network special and has created magic tricks for other magicians.
Singer Glen Campbell has cancelled his last show on Sunday, March 4. He will still be performing Tuesday, Feb 27 through Saturday, March 3.
A Valentine's dance featuring the Guy Lombardo Orchestra is scheduled at the Riverside on Monday, Feb. 12 at 5 p.m. VIP tickets are $20.
